A fascinating article by Margaret O’Mara, an Associate Professor of History at the University of Washington, comparing this Summer’s speaking tour of Donald Trump with TR’s nationwide speaking tour of 1910.

On Labor Day 1903 President Theodore Roosevelt addressed the New York Sate Fair and delivered these poignant and still timely words. 

“The welfare of each of us is dependent fundamentally upon the welfare of all of us, and therefore in public life that man is the best representative of each of us who seeks to do good to each by doing good to all.”

TR didn’t much care for the automobile.

But that’s not stopping General Motors from using parts of TR’s Citizenship in a Republic Speech as voice over in a new commercial for it’s Cadillac line.

Although it should be noted that it was during his administration that the first government purchased car was provided for Presidential use.
